The 4th of July and Making Tortillas!

I had a great 4th of July! I spent the day with my awesome team of missionaries at the Houston Astros baseball game. It was so neat to be at a baseball game on the 4th. After all, what's more American than baseball? Here are some pictures:

Today was a regular day of ministry. This morning we had senior adult ministry. Our team made a hilarious mistake while we were working in the food pantry. Our supervisor, Berta, told us to put together food bags for the seniors and the homebound ministry. We understood that we needed 18 for homebound and 50 bags for seniors. After a long time of sorting and putting together the bags, Berta walked in. She was shocked to see so many bags! She had said 15 bags! Our entire team was laughing at our huge mistake. We ended up putting all the extra food back on the shelves.
After lunch today our team learned how to make tortillas from scratch. Our center director, Tommie, was kind enough to teach us! We had fun in the kitchen!

I learned how to make tortillas once. In South Africa of all places....but that was because over there, if you want tortillas, you have to make them, because you can't find them in the stores...
